hey guys here is my MPC 1/9 alien drone from the movie alien. for this build I was going to do a corridor fromn the nostromo with the flahing beacons etc but then the game alin isolation come out so decided to do a scene from the game.

the dio I am going to do is on level 16 and im going to added the lights and smoke etc for the atmospherics im also going to add Amanda ripley escaping through the hatch that if your a fan of the game you spend half the time doing to dodge near certain death. so heres the pics of alien and where im at with dio.

the alien was assembled, the primered then with a base colour of matt Vallejo black, then I did drubrushing with bone white.

once the base colours were added a did a heavy oil wash with 502 arbteilung faded navy blue then gloss coated varnish, after that was dry I did a second medium wash with abteilung dark mud and then gloss coated then finally another wash of abteilung starship filth lightly to highlight the details.

the detail painting then come after that using bone white for the interior of the skull and Vallejo Iraqi sand for certain areas and the second mouth was done with humbrol matt 154.

the clear dome was then lightly painted with humbrol gloss black watered right down white spirit to almost a wash consistency which achieved the almost see through dome cap as per the movie so you can just the detail under the cap.

the slime was achieved with hot glue and as it was drying I stretched the hot glue to get the slime/drool coming of his mouths. so enough rambling heres the pics of where I am at.

heres the alien isolation scene im scratch building from the game:

This looks great so far, good job on building the hatch. Alien came out well too and the hot glue works well as slime. This is going to be a big Dio!

unfortuantly yeah it is gona be bigger than intended buddy but im a suka for anything aliens and predator related, for perspective the alien is nearly 12" tall and the hatch is nearly big enough for the alien to fit in also if im not carful ill have a good chunk of sevastapol station in my front room, the good thing is I got permission from game creators to build the sevastapol parts from the game so long as I don't sell the finished dio

No I don't bud I was gona murder a barbie doll at the waist and use the legs in the hatch so it looks like Amanda Ripley has just cut through the hatch is trying to escape.
