hey guys here is another build from the aliens franchise which is the halcyon 1/35 apc. this started out a good idea and run into all sorts of issues.

for those familiar with halcyon kits from this period the fit was awful and the instructions were as much use a chocolate fire guard, so much scratch building required. first off I decided to put a full interior inside and after much research and blueprints the interior you see in the movie isn't the actual interior in the apc as it doesn't fit so because I wanted to light the model aswell and 35th scale was 2 small I decided to button her up and just light the kit.

the detail on the apc was average to say the least so the back wall where the cannons are had to be cut out and styrene added to put the mesh in also the engine cover on the left side was cut out and mesh added, I also added a box behind to add depth and put engine detais behind the mesh courtacy of an x wing I also driiled the exhausts and remade new ones with styrene pipe.

I added the side lights headlights rear lights and the spot light on the roof with various leds and the spotlight was again scratch built to accommodate the led.

I then primed the whole kit and base coated with Tamiya jsdf olive drab, added various drybrushing of worn panels and the weathered up the apc with a sponge also added rust in various small places.

the whole front of the apc was scratch built again to get the leds to sit right in the headlights.

instead of going cannon as per the movie my apc isn't off the sulaco its from a different unit hence the weathering on it.

unfortuantly I don't have the build log pics but here is a short video I did of the apc lit.

Awesome model and building, i really like the paint job and the lights you added make it look real, esp the search light coming through the grill on top makes it look creepy like something bads about to happen as all hell breaks loose!
