The last of my Fine Molds 1/72 X-Wings. Tried the salt chipping technique with varying levels of success.

looks cool.
How would you rate the Fine molds kits compared to the Newer Bandai ones?

Thanks Casey.

Overall, not too bad. These were the best until the Bandai ones came out and they definitely give them a run for the money (I have not yet built one, just comparing to what others have built).

Most all the panel lines are in the right places as compared to the studio model pictures I have found. The only one that I have noticed missing for Red 3 is the diagonal line on the khaki panel on the Port side of the fuselage.

The real weakness in the FM kit is the cockpit. Details are completely wrong behind the seat. The pilot figure is a little misshapen too, all three I have painted scrunched to the right.

Even with a crazy travel schedule for work these days I did manage to finish this.

It is painted based on the photos of the Red 3 that is in the Lucas Archives (not the huge one that went on tour).

Thanks for looking.

Thanks Russell.

Would you believe a Fine Molds X-Wing? Well, yeah, but this time in 1/48th scale. My last FM one. Going to do it as my favorite bird, Wedge Antilles' Red 2.

After that I have the 1/144th X-Wing that comes in the Red Leader Rogue One boxing. I'm converting to acrylics and this is going to be a test bed for that and non-turpenoid washes since the turpenoid seams to destroy the Bandai plastic.

After that I'll be on some non X-Wing Star Wars stuff.

Aren't you sorry you asked? LOL

I'd just like to see some others posting up. Used to be that winter and early spring was when everyone was posting WIP and finished stuff.

Too bad you're in Victoria, I'll be in Sydney in late November.

Yup, will be for our 30th wedding anniversary. Cruising out of Sydney and around NZ for a couple weeks.
