Thanks David, got the base paint laid on tonight. I'll be giving the oil wash another day or two to dry and then proceed.

Not quite the same shade, but close enough. Did do a light mist over the main bodies to hopefully blend it closer too.

I know what the ratio is supposed to be, 3 parts Intermediate Blue: 1 part Light Gray, hope I can get it close.

Calling R4-NOGO done!!!
Very simply kit to put together, would be great for kids just starting out. Putting a new coat of paint on these Bandai kits really brings them to life

Mix a new batch of paint and lightly spray others as well, they don't all have to look exactly the same. Unbox!!!

Looks great Peter. Like where you went with it.

Note to self, when painting three TIE fighters simultaneously with a custom color mix, make sure you mix enough!!!!!!!!!!!

Ran out before I got to the TIE/Ln wing panels. Got so mad I cleaned the airbrush and boxed everything up.

Will try to find some motivation to match the paint soon.

ARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice work Del, I just got two of those sets on order the other day to do the same as what I am doing in 1/72 scale. I'll figure something to do with the extra TIE/ADV in the future.

Maybe a couple of 1/44th Xs trying to chase Vader down in some canyon in some battle after Yavin. LOL

Hello Everyone,

I know I'm getting a late start, but life has been busy and I just get around to things in my own time.. lol

So for my build, I went small, I have got a bunch of these Bandai small scale kits just waiting to be built.

So I'm starting the Bandai Vehicle Model kit 007 the Tie Advanced and Tie Fighter set, in 1/144.

For such a small scale the details and molding is excellent and the fit for the one I've done is prob one of the best I've ever worked on. here are a couple of photos.. my start that I took a couple of weeks ago, and an what I have worked on today..

Thats it for now.. If I have time after building these I might throw in some x-wings for funnsies

Trying something a little out of my comfort zone. A multi-model vignette. Bandai's 1/72 TIE/Adv and two Bandai 1/72 TIE/Ln in formation over some of the Bandai DS tile bases.

"I'm on the leader".

All three ships are parts cleaned, the interiors, flight crew and wing panels should get some paint tonight if all goes well.

I don't have a lot of the tiles so the ships will overlap the base. I figure I can always add more or pick up the DS tile set in the future.

Starting on some weathering of NOGO, I really like this paint for washes on the Bandai plastic not harmful and washes out in water. It doesn't seem as annoying as other acrylic paints for washes. The Burnt Sienna is a nice colour over the Aluminium.

Hi
Playing arounds with some ideas/options.
What do people think of this look, nothing glued or weathered yet.
Need some outsiders view points

Hard day at the office!!!

I understand. I find it hard to build something canon. Too many rivet counters and "shade of paint" experts.

Thanks Davids
Yes I don't know where these weird ideas of mine come from. I find it hard to do a normal build

I love where you are going with this.

I'm going to have to pick up one of these droid kits.

My Bad
I started this kit yesterday LOL and did an all nighter (well almost 3am)

Sill a WIP got gadgets stickers and weathering to go, also thinking about adding more damage and wires. I have only glues the head and main to body halves to reduce seam lines.
I'm calling him R4-NOGO

I love the whole idea of this build and I look forward to seeing you post more updates

Logged out and logged back in again and I can only still add to my own gallery not the campaign one.

Edit:
Nevermind, tried it on Chrome instead of Firefox and it worked. Two pictures uploaded to the gallery.

I'm glad you were able to fix the problem.
